Privacy Policy
The MarMaids Staff app is a work tool for the employees and contractors of MarMaids LLC (“MarMaids”, “we”, “us”). Accounts are created by MarMaids for its own team members; there is no public sign-up. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, work email address (your login), and the phone number and city/state on your employee record. Your password is stored on our server only as a one-way encrypted hash; your session key is kept in your phone's secure storage.
- Work information: your cleaning schedule, the properties you service (addresses, check-in/check-out times, house details and access instructions), service calls you create or are assigned to, and notes you add.
- Messages and photos: messages and photos you send in the app's team chats, and before/after photos you attach to service calls. The app uses your camera or photo library only when you choose to take or attach a photo, and saves photos to your library only when you tap Save.
- Pay and performance: your pay summaries (amounts, jobs, hours, tips) and any ratings or reviews of your work, as recorded by MarMaids in its payroll and quality systems.
- Device information for notifications: if you allow notifications, a push-notification token and an app-generated device ID, so we can send you work alerts.
We do not collect your location. The “Navigate” button opens your phone's maps app; we never receive your position. The app contains no advertising, no ad tracking and no third-party analytics.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your schedule, house information, chats, service calls and pay.
- To send you work notifications and reminders.
- To operate our business: scheduling, quality control, payroll and customer service.
- To keep accounts secure (for example, limiting repeated failed logins).
Who can see it
- Your team: messages and photos you post in a chat are visible to the MarMaids staff and managers who use that chat. Service calls are visible to MarMaids managers.
- Service providers: our web-hosting provider (which stores the data on marmaids.com), and Expo, Apple and Google, which deliver push notifications. They process data only to provide these services to us.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our staff, clients or others.
We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
Storage and security
Information is stored on MarMaids' servers and is always sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. To work without signal, the app keeps a copy of some information on your phone; signing out of the app removes it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you work with MarMaids. After that, we delete or anonymize it, except records we must keep by law (such as payroll and tax records) or that are part of our business records (such as completed service calls and work photos of client properties), which we keep only as long as needed.
Your choices and rights
- You can delete your own chat messages and photos in the app.
- You can turn off notifications, camera or photo access at any time in your phone's settings.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or delete your account. See Delete your account, or email us.
Children
The app is for MarMaids team members and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date.
